The mistake is made...and ignored.

In the end of September, Singapore government raised the tariff of electricity for 21% based on the projection that oil price would reach USD150 in 3 months. Now 1 1/2 month has passed. The petrol price dropped from then USD100 to today's USD57.

Singapore is always acting fast, even so fast that it acts for something has not yet happened. But for something has already happened (petrol price has dropped), nothing is done.

Good job!

Economy is bad. All clowns coming to town!

This uncle is most likely one of the 900 staff retrenched by DBS recently. Out of desperation, he tried to disguise himself as a Malay woman and to rob a UOB bank with a remote bomb, as he claimed.

I think he must learn from the real robbers in Malaysia, where heavy firearms are used. If he really wants to rob the bank, rob like a man lar! How come disgused himself as a woman??? Shame on you!!

Pregnant woman wants $1,600 2 months job?

Just watched a documentary from mediaCorp about a young Singaporean couple who are facing financial problem. They bought a 4-rooms flat, a car and hired a maid. Before the woman was pregnant and out of job, the combined income of the couple was 3k+.

The woman cried in front of TV, saying that no one wanted to hire her because of her pregnancy. Then it is very miserable that they have to hire the maid while they are now only depending on her husband's 2K+ (before CPF deduction) salary to maintain the car (1K+ a month) and the maid.

Then the TV host arranged a job interview for the woman in a travel agency. Knowing that she is to deliver in 2 months time, the employer offers $800 a month job to the woman. But the woman rejected the job because she wanted a $1,600 pay-check.

Is this really a reality documentary or a comedy? Couldn't stop laughing when watching this show. Thanks for the good work, MediaCorp!

Singapore Table Tennis Saga continues...It is still all about money

The national coach of Singapore Table Tennis team, which brought home the first ever silver medal in recent Olympic game, rejected an insulting offer of SGD6,300 a month salary.

Singapore has spent millions of dollar on these Foreign talents to bring glory home, up our status as a 'sport mighty house'. I am not sure how many commoners are really proud of this. But a sure reality is that cost of living is raising, bus fare, electricity bills, housing rents and food costs are getting harder to pay.

Yet, our national hero is still not satisfying with the insulting salary.

Price hike is not arbitrary, people deserved to pay and pay

Read the news here.
So what the justification is estimation is way off? Government in end of Sept that the petrol price will hit USF150 in the coming 3 month. One month later, petrol price drops to 1-year low and below USD70.
So what? Yet our minister still proudly said that the price hike is not arbitrar. The minister even said that if not because of this price hike solution, people could even pay up more!! Simply impressive. You win liao lar and I am speechless.
Let's just listen to government and pay and pay, and then say "Thank you!"

Singapore's Projection of oil price:USD155 in 3 months, and charge you 21% more on Electricity bill!!

But the oil price has since dropped below USD90. I dunno which scholar came up such a brilliant projection and made all the commoners like suffering.
If such projection can be trusted, why not Temasek rushs to store the oil now and then sell off to make profit when it really reaches USD155??

Saying Sorry is not enough. Please resign. This is Singapore, you know?

Just 2 months into the position of the president of Singapore Table Tennis Association, Ms Lee Bee Wah made herself famous for the wrong reason.

Singapore grabbed its first Olympic Medal in 48 years but the whole nation is not in mood to celebrate. Kudos to Ms Lee! She made a big fuss out of a medal-unrelated match and spoilt the jubilant mood at a timing cannot be more wrong.

When she was back to Singapore on the first day, where she still insisted she has done no wrong. However, there is when Sports Minister Dr Vivan B stepped in to steer the direction and then finally Ms Lee back down and apologised.

But why is she still holding the position? Isn't that blatanly obvious that she is NOT FIT for the job? Why we need a President to demoralize and create bad news to everybody? If she is not competent, why isn't she replaced? Is she too free from her constituency and find nothing better to do?

Come on, this is Singapore. We have high standard and we always strive for excellent. This lady is definitely incapable. Since she has admitted mistake. Then just bow, and go, please!

Choose your greatest moment of Olympic 2008, Singapore version

The Olympic 2008 is finally over. Let's reminisce the best moments happened during these days... 1. Singapore won the first medal in 48 years by the 'China Squad' in Table Tennis. China Team A Vs China Team B (from Singapore) were in the Women Team final. Eventually, the real China team won the gold medal. But to Singapore, it cannot be more thrilled to win the Silver medal by the foreign talents.

2. Jade Seah admitted saying Fvck on TV!! But no head rolls. We regret it happens but let's close rank and move on. Is it because babe got privileges?

3. In another incident, someone is not so lucky. The manager of Singapore Table Tennis team, Anthony Lee, kena sacked! Apparently is because of no coach was arranged for the Singapore Men Table Tennis player Gao Ning in a sure-loss match. If Anthony Lee is a hot babe like Jade Seah, I am sure we got to close rank and move on again. Too bad, Anthony Lee.

4. Singapore Flag Bearer, Li Jia Wei swept the floor with Singapore flag in the Opening Ceremony. In other countries, this is a serious insult to the national pride and considered a crime. However, for the sake of the medal, we forgave Li Jia Wei. Our medal drought for 48 years has been saved because of the brilliant investment on these FTs. National pride isn't that important on this matter.

Singapore now has a world class actress: Gong Li!!

Not only that Singapore has world class table tennis players, now Singapore even has a world class actress: Gong Li (巩俐).

The winner of several international movies awards such as two-time Golden Rooster, two-time Hundred Flowers Award, Berlinale Camera, Cannes Festival Trophy, National Board of Review, New York Film Critics Circle Award, and Volpi Cup winning Chinese film actress, is now a Singapore citizen.

This is a new purchased item of ready-made foreign talent to boost Singapore to the world class stage is various area. Soon, Singapore will have an Oscar Winner. Congratulations!

No Good English is allowed in Kopitiam.

Other than No pets, No Smoking and No Outside Food, our local food courts should put on one more 'No': No Good English.

A coffeeshop helper jokingly mocked an elderly man for speaking polite proper English when ordering a cup of coffee. Too bad, an Indian man withnessed this incident and blew it up and brought it to newspaper.

Read the news here.

The coffeeshop helper was blamed for being low-class and impolite. Hey, come on! Isn't this just a normal-than-usual thing happens everyday in our life? Being friendly and having some fun to people while working. What is the issue with that???

Life is already very tough for these low-income people. Yet, some people still want to make a mountain out of this molepile to score points. This might be how these people survive: step on other people and tell how bad other person is in order to show how good you are!

Majulah, Singapura!

Jade Seah really said the F* word on Channel 5 live show!

So what she is a beauty queen, a babe next-door and looks innocent to many? She DID utter the F-word! It has been confirmed by the MediaCorp.

I really wonder what kind of personality or life these beautiful characters have behind the camera.

Finally, Singapore bought a medal in Olympic!

After 48 years of a dry medal spell, Singapore has come out triumphant at this year's Beijing Olympics. Many thanks the generous investment in the Chinese squad, we made it.

By the way, Malaysia's badminton player Lee Chong Wei also stormed into the final on the same day. He is not a purchased item, but a home-grown player. On this issue, Malaysia is a better investor than Singapore.

Another lousy investment from Temasek

This time, it brought disgrace to the country.

Li Jiawei, the 27 year-old China-trained table tennis player, who became Singapore citizen at the age of 18, voluteered to be the flag bearer for Singapore in the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympic 2008.

She got her wish granted. With billions of eyes watching from worldwide, the Singapore flag she held had become a floor sweeper instead. The flag was dragged along the floor for most of the time during the team marching in the stadium. No one from the marching team noticed or came forward to rectify the disaster. It was a dsgraceful night!

The money has definitely brought talents to Singapore, but maybe not patriotism.

Escape from Singapore 2008

27 February 2008, Singapore's most-wanted terrorist, Mas Selamat escaped from detention center.

Gone case. This fellow is already married and bearing kids in somewhere else.

12 June 2008, a detainee tried to escape from court. Police was able to get back from outside the court.

22 June 2008, father used his son's passport to board a plane from Changi Airport.

He passed through immigration and security checkpoints and even a face-to-face inspection.

Of all the incidents above, heads were rolled, staff were reprimanded but our millionaire minister secured his post.
This is Singapore.

Singapore's rape case gone in a day from Newspaper

Usually, Singapore's media would publish Malaysia's crime stories, particularly rape cases, on the newspaper for consecutive days.

However, the recent rape case in Singapore, happened on a NUS student some more, appeared only on the paper for 1 day.

What does this imply? Rape case in Singapore is too common to publish?

Singapore expands its size, lawfully this time

By simple measuring with Google Earth, Pedra Branca is 38.6km away from Singapore but 14.1km from Johor. Yet, Singapore successfully claimed Pedra Branca to be its land.

I am not sure how this land will benefit the fellow Singaporeans and fight with inflations, but I hope this is not another wayang show with tons of money spent just to get a morale victory.

Congratulations to Singapore! Next we want to claim Johor to be ours!

Toads gave early warning before the deadly earthquake

Hundred thousands of toads swarmed to cross the road before the deadly earthquake hit the central China. The earthquake killed more than 8,500 people in the Sichuan province of China.

This reminds me the incident at Phuket in December 2004, where the elephant ran up to a hill while tourists were still riding on it. Shortly after that, the faithful tsunami which killed hundred thousands of people took place.

A mistake that won't bother to change

At morning 7:53am, the mistake was spotted. No big deal. Who doesn't make mistake.

Anyway, the world class newspaper should quickly spot this error and make correction accordingly.

But, surprisingly, at 4:45pm when I looked again. The mistake is still there.

Anyway, I guess this is only a peanut amount to some people. My dear readers, take it or leave. Not happy don't read lah!

Garang women wow wow wow...

After the court awarded her 'only' £25million divorce settlement with Sir Paul McCartney, Heather Mills threw water over her former husband's lawyer and then laughingly announced that she had been "baptised in court."

Read the news here.

The local version of garang woman is obviously outmatched. The wife of Singapore richest man, the CEO of Venture Corp, 'only' managed to slap a SIA's air stewardess in the business class to make the news.

The victim upgraded the case from civil suit to criminal charge against the tai-tai. That means jail term is possible.

After Mas Selemat, another world class mistake

Singapore revises January manufacturing output growth to 11.7 pct from 6.9 pct

2008-3-11 09:00:00 a.m. HKT, XFNA SINGAPORE (Thomson Financial) -

The Economic Development Board said Tuesday Singapore's manufacturing output grew at an annual pace of 11.7 percent in January instead of 6.9 percent as it previously reported.

The board said it made a mistake in the computation of the data when it published the January manufacturing performance on Feb 26.

After recomputing the data, the board said it found that electronics output grew by 8.7 percent in January instead of contracting by 6.7 percent. Semiconductor output rose 6.8 percent instead of dropping 10.1 percent as reported earlier and data storage output grew by 14.4 percent instead of contracting 6.3 percent. The board also made minor revisions to the output of the chemical, precision engineering, transport engineering and general manufacturing industries for the month.

""We have strengthened our processes to avoid such errors from occurring again in future. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused,"" the board said.

Let's close rank. It should not have happened, but it did. I am sorry about that. Let's move on. We are not infallible. We will find out what is wrong with the toilet.....and we will continue to get the multi-milions salary...good bye!!

Got big mansion but got no life to enjoy??

Infamous Malaysia Politician Zakaria Deros, who built a jaw-dropping mansion (or private istana) illegally in Klang, has died in a heart attack.

Somehow I just feel that it is like watching a drama. All the good guys win in the end. All the bad guys served them right eventually with punishments.

Now the question: Who will take over the mansion??

Saturday, March 1, 2008

Where the hell is Mat Selamat?

Our million dollar minister apologised for the incident which causes a massive man hunt of the terrorist. It also resulted a massive long queue in the causeway which the lorry can move 500m in 3 hours! Massive manpower of policemen and army have been deployed for the search and massive MMS messages will be sent out by telco to subscribers to ask for help.

I wonder what the economic loss has resulted because of this incident. If a multi-million dollar CEO of a company causes this damage to the country, he will definitely be severely punished. Our ministers, who linked their salary to the CEO of private sector, have not yet addressed what accoutability or responsiblity they will shoulder. But we have all been asked not 'speculate'.

Dr Chua Soi Lek proved that Malaysia's Tongkat Ali is truly powerful

The disgraced Malaysia ex-Health Minister Dr Chua Soi Lek said this in the news conference where he announced resignation.

"If you want to discuss my private life, please do," he told reporters at his press conference. "Maybe you would like to watch the videotape with me."

The joker, who apparently was told to resign by the Prime Minister, had refused to resign one day before, saying "leaving his fate to the prime minister". One day later, he relinquished all his political posts from Health Minister, MCA's deputy president and the MP of Labis.

Men prefer to S-shape objects!

2 bottles of mineral water, both are for 600ml. According to a survey, more than 80% of men will prefer the S-shape bottle, whereas more than 90% of women either choose the oil-barrel shape or have no preferences.
This confirms the theory that men are born to be attracted by things with more 3D visualisation effects, regardless whether it is lifeless objects or...women!

Politic = Money Business

Malaysian politician Datuk Zakaria had tearfully told the media: 'It was never my intention to boast or show off by building a bigger house which has been called 'Istana Datuk Zakaria' by some.

His mansion: 2 1/2-storey house with 16 bedrooms, 21 bathrooms, 40,000sq m plot, a large koi pond, a swimming pool and a mini golf course.

So, how about the politicians of Singapore? Aren't they greedy of money? Whether they are or not, definitely they have a better way to get rich -- legally increase the salary to become million-dollar ministers! Singapore is a lawful country anyway.
